Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Supervise staff of CNC machinist
- Achieve key objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Train, coach and mentor staff, including conducting performance reviews and executing disciplinary actions as necessary
- Preplan jobs and coordinate/adjust scheduling
- Assess and communicate manpower requirements
- Coordinate responses to down equipment with Maintenance and Engineering departments
- Compliance with OSHA regulations and reporting requirements
- Complete production jobs as appropriate and available, including setups
- Coordinate and communicate with the Director of Manufacturing to continually balance the supervisory vs. machinist workload in response to staff and customer requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years related experience
- Knowledge of CNC programming and related computer operations and applications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches and verbal and written communications to accomplish the job at hand
- Capability to perform complex assignments with little or no direction
- Ability to exercise independent judgement to optimize machine and staff operations
- Applied knowledge of precision machining and GPP equipment to successfully diagnose or describe problem situations and recommend practical solutions to complex issues
- Ability to work independently or on a team to help provide solutions to a range of complex problems
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with various levels of employees
