Primary Function and Scope:
Sets up and operates CNC machines to fabricate parts within desired specifications of a work order.

Sets up and operates CNC machines to fabricate parts within desired specifications of a work order.
Essential Functions
- Read blueprints, Work Instructions, machine manuals, to determine and perform setup on CNC machines.
- Set up tools and holders.
- Set up vises and fixtures in the machine.
- Machine soft jaws and fixtures.
- Pick up and set Work Piece Coordinates
- Start the first part on repeat jobs.
- Create tool offsets to adjust machine.
- Inspect completed parts using metrology equipment.
- Fill out required inspection and production reports.
- Oversee work of other CNC Operators as assigned.
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance duties.
- Run production parts as required.
- Deburr parts before moving to the next operation or completion.
- Performs any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Observe safety procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years experience as a CNC Set up person combined with 2 previous years working as an operator.
- Related Vocational or Associates Degree in CNC machining is preferred.
- Experience with MasterCam programing software is a benefit
- Ability to work with machine controls and perform at machine simple edits.
- Ability to manually input and run G and M codes
- Proficiency with tooling and fixtures setup
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, calculate figures, apply concepts of basic algebra
- Ability to establish tool length and fixtures offsets
- Ability to run CNC programs in single block mode, and perform machine edits
- Good communication skills required
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures.
