🚀 AI Engineer | San Francisco | Up to $250K EquityAn AI-native startup building enterprise AI systems for Fortune 500 companies including CVS Health, Aon, and PVH is hiring an AI Engineer to join their growing team in San Francisco.This is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on building production-grade AI agents, eval systems, orchestration pipelines, and LLM-powered product features used by real customers.💰 Compensation:• Up to $250K base salary• Competitive equity• $1,000/month food commuting stipend📍 Location:Onsite 5 days/week in SOMA, San Francisco⚡ What You’ll Work On:• Build AI agents, prompts, eval systems, and orchestration pipelines• Ship LLM-powered product features to production• Improve AI output quality through retrieval, evaluation, and prompt engineering• Design scalable agentic workflows and tool-use systems• Evaluate new models, frameworks, and AI infrastructure• Work closely with product and platform engineering teams🔥 Must Have:3–8 years of hands-on software engineering experience building LLM-powered features shipped to real usersExperience shipping production AI products at high-growth startups with strong engineering cultureStrong experience building agents and agentic systems using tool use and orchestration over large datasetsStrong understanding of frontier AI systems beyond basic LangChain workflowsStrong TypeScript/Node.js engineering skills (especially AWS Lambda) and/or PythonExperience with eval systems, structured outputs, and function callingBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical fieldGenuine excitement about early-stage startups and AI product development⭐ Nice to Have:• Experience on small engineering teams (• Founding engineer or former founder background• Enterprise vertical SaaS experience• Customer-facing or Forward Deployed Engineering experience• Experience with Anyscale Ray or distributed inference/eval systems• Open source contributions in AI, LLM, or agent tooling• Experience with pgvector or vector retrieval systems• Experience with post-training or fine-tuning models• Experience with AWS Bedrock, Anthropic, OpenAI, or Vertex AI⚠️ Important:• This is a very high-bar engineering role• Candidates should have real production AI experience, not only prototypes or demos• LangChain-only experience is considered a weak signal• We are not targeting candidates from narrow big-tech-only environments without strong ownershipThis is an opportunity to join a fast-growing AI startup at an early stage and help shape the future of enterprise AI systems from the ground up.
