Customer Service Specialist / Centralized Patient Scheduler (Contract-to-Hire)

Seeking a Customer Service Specialist / Centralized Patient Scheduler to join their our on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This position is based onsite at the Hoag Business Center and is ideal for candidates with strong medical scheduling experience, especially within radiology and diagnostic imaging services.
Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls from patients, providers, and members
- Schedule patient appointments for diagnostic imaging services
- Coordinate radiology and diagnostic testing appointments including:
- Mammograms
- DEXA scans
- X-rays
- Ultrasounds
- CT scans
- MRI
- Nuclear Medicine
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Conduct pre-certification and authorization processes as needed
- Triage calls and provide excellent customer support
- Utilize technology and patient data systems to ensure a smooth patient experience
- Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and internal departments
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of direct radiology diagnostic testing scheduling experience
- Experience scheduling imaging appointments in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of health insurance verification processes
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic EMR experience
- Previous experience in a hospital or large healthcare organization
