Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Yoruba ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and immigration proceedings.
- Ensure interpretations are accurate, impartial, and culturally appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
- Support both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
- Participate in compliance training, quality audits, and professional development.
- Native or near-native fluency in Yoruba and English.
- 2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, medical, NGO, or community preferred).
- Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and neutrality.
- Excellent telephone communication skills with ability to remain accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
