Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Sinhalese ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
- Deliver services with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism.
- Maintain strict confidentiality under USCIS/DHS compliance standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation needs.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
- Native or near-native fluency in Sinhalese (Sinhala) and English.
- 2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, government, or healthcare preferred).
- Strong understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
- Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
