The Position: Employment-Based Permanent Residency Paralegal
Global Immigration Legal Team is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Paralegal with experience in employment-based immigration, specifically PERM and employment-based permanent residency (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, I-140, AOS) processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with attorneys, HR partners, and foreign national employees to support the preparation, filing, and ongoing management of employment-based immigration matters. We’re looking for a paralegal who can work well on their own but also thrives in a relaxed, supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare draft PERM Form ETA-9089 applications for attorney review, including working with employer to obtain the job descriptions, drafting prevailing wages for attorney review, and assisting in preparation of audit response packets.
- Manage full lifecycle of employment-based green card cases (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3), including I-140 immigrant petitions and I-485 adjustment of status filings.
- Assist attorneys in preparing documentation for prevailing wage requests, recruitment steps, and labor certification filings.
- Communicate with clients, HR teams, and beneficiaries to gather required information and maintain accurate case records.
- Track deadlines, monitor case progress, and ensure timely completion of all filings.
- Maintain organized digital case files and update internal case management systems.
- Conduct research on immigration regulations, USCIS and DOL updates, and case strategy issues as needed.
- Support attorneys with responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and audits.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in employment-based immigration, with demonstrated knowledge of PERM and related immigrant petition filings.
- Strong understanding of U.S. immigration regulations, processes, and legal terminology.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and client-service skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
