Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Customer Service Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, providing exceptional customer service while managing inquiries related to medical appointments, billing, and insurance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, empathetic, and possesses excellent communication skills to ensure a positive experience for all clients. Bilingual abilities and familiarity with medical terminology are highly valued to support our diverse patient base.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
  • Assist patients with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations
  • Provide accurate information regarding billing, insurance claims, and payment options
  • Enter and update patient data accurately into the electronic health records system
  • Verify patient information and insurance details to ensure data integrity
  • Address patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism, resolving issues efficiently
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to facilitate smooth operations
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Skills

  • Multilingual abilities are a strong plus; fluency in English is required
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and familiarity with healthcare software systems
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical office procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on clear articulation
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on empathy and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional demeanor during interactions
  • Ability to analyze situations quickly and provide appropriate solutions or escalate issues as needed
  • Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare customer service environment is preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: Up to $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
