Environmental Engineer – Air Monitoring & Reporting
Overview
The Environmental Engineer – Air Monitoring and Reporting (EE-AMR) develops and implements programs, policies, and procedures supporting environmental compliance strategies for a major LNG terminal facility. The position focuses on air quality compliance and emissions management, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. This role reports to the Environmental Superintendent and is based on-site in Port Arthur, Texas.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain air compliance programs, procedures, and reporting systems.
- Prepare and submit required air emissions reports, including annual emissions inventories and semi-annual deviation reports.
- Support the engineering and I&E teams with emission calculations, monitoring, and data collection for continuous monitoring equipment.
- Conduct environmental testing and audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (Title V, EPA greenhouse gas, etc.).
- Provide environmental guidance, training, and technical support to operations personnel.
- Investigate and report environmental incidents, participate in root cause analyses, and support spill response and remediation efforts.
- Manage environmental data systems, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement in environmental performance.
- Promote environmental stewardship and safe work practices throughout facility operations.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in air quality management and environmental compliance within LNG, gas processing, refining, or petrochemical industries.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of air emission monitoring, compliance reporting, and emissions management.
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local environmental laws and permits (e.g., EPA, TCEQ, Clean Air Act).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Experience with compliance reporting and submittals (Title V, NSPS/MACT, TRI, etc.) or management of CEMS and performance testing requirements.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Valid TWIC card and CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
