Automotive Technician

Position Overview:

Our team is currently looking for a Trackside Support Engineering Tech for a client in the Motorsports Industry.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties:

• Supports developed powertrain, chassis, and electronic systems at the racetrack.
• Responsibilities include providing mechanical and operational assistance for Honda-supplied hardware, ensuring optimal performance and reliability, and acting as a technical liaison between HRC departments and trackside operations.
• Duties also include hardware inspections, implementing changes to maintain system integrity, and supporting customer teams with Honda powertrain operations.
• Candidates must have 5 years of full vehicle technical experience, be based in California, and be willing to travel extensively.

Requirements:

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and some experience where the primary function of the position was maintenance and repair work on automotive and/or heavy equipment.
• Auto Mechanics, Automotive Technology, or a related field or possession of a certificate from a post-secondary vocational school is a plus.

Must haves:

• Must be willing to travel to race/test events.
• Must demonstrated ability to perform difficult repairs on all types of automobiles.
• Ability to readily and accurately diagnose mechanical difficulties.
• Ability to read and interpret technical repair manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, shop prints, mechanical curve charts, etc.
• Ability to work from oral or written instructions and without instructions from own diagnosis.
• Ability to lay out, organize and plan the work of others.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position.
• Good interpersonal skills; initiative; resourcefulness; good judgment; physical strength and agility; physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position.

Working Condition:

• Santa Clarita, California; on-site
• Relocation offered.
• One-year contract w/possible extension/direct hire
