Pay: $135,700.00 - $251,900.00

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Circuit Design Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced aerospace electronics. This role involves working in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment to develop sophisticated avionics hardware for mission-critical aerospace applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, circuit card assembly (CCA) design and development, and aerospace hardware engineering, along with experience leading technical activities throughout the product development lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Design and capture electrical schematics and provide technical guidance for circuit board layouts.
• Perform electrical Worst-Case Analysis (WCA) and Electrical Parts Stress Analysis (EPSA).
• Support the design, development, integration, and verification of advanced avionics systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues, investigate test anomalies, and develop effective technical solutions.
• Prepare, review, and present product certification documentation and technical reports.
• Support system-level testing and hardware qualification activities.
• Evaluate engineering designs and verify compliance with technical requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, management, subcontractors, and government customers.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the hardware development lifecycle.
• Support design reviews, technical presentations, and the resolution of complex engineering challenges.
• Apply AI prompting techniques and AI-assisted tools to support engineering activities, analysis, and problem-solving where appropriate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent combined education and experience.
• At least five years of relevant professional engineering experience.
• Experience in electronics design, with a focus on circuit card assembly (CCA) design and development.
• Experience serving as a technical lead or responsible engineer.
• Experience supporting technical evaluations, design reviews, and requirements verification.
• Experience working through multiple phases of the aerospace hardware development lifecycle.
• Strong written, verbal communication, and technical presentation skills.
• Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience in missile systems or space avionics circuit design.
• Background in missile design and development.
• Experience across the full program and product lifecycle.
• Familiarity with ASIC and FPGA development.
• Experience with flight controls and/or motor controls.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability and design for testability.
• Experience with PSPICE, Saber, or other electronic circuit simulation tools.
• Experience performing electronic analyses, including Worst Case Analysis (WCA), Electrical Parts Stress Analysis (EPSA) and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
• Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to peers, management, subcontractors, and customers.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within diverse, cross-functional engineering teams.
• Proficiency in applying AI prompting techniques and AI-assisted tools to engineering design and analysis.
