Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing bid documents, and collaborating with project teams to ensure competitive pricing and successful project execution. Responsibilities
- Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents using tools such as Bluebeam.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
- Utilize HeavyBid and other estimating software to prepare accurate bids within specified deadlines.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and terms effectively.
- Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information relevant to cost estimation and project scope.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, contracts, and scope of work documentation.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and identify areas for cost control.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material prices, and labor rates to maintain competitive and realistic estimates.
- Support contract negotiations and review contractual obligations related to project costs.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for markup and document management.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms while maintaining professional relationships.
- Experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of construction estimating processes, including cost control and pricing strategies.
- Construction site experience that provides practical insight into field operations.
- Understanding of construction management principles and project management practices.
- Familiarity with contracts, scope of work development, and legal considerations in construction projects.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessment.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and subcontractors. This position is integral to our project's success by ensuring accurate budgeting and competitive bidding while supporting overall project delivery excellence.
