Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated CATIA Data Management Engineer with experience to support the management, validation, and release of mechanical design data in a manufacturing engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have strong CATIA V5 and BIW welding fixture experience, along with knowledge of engineering documentation, BOMs, and PLM/data management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain 2D/3D CAD data in CATIA V5, including drawings, BOMs, and spare parts lists.
- Review and process BIW welding fixture design data received from vendors.
- Validate 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and spare parts documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage engineering data revisions, releases, and documentation.
- Integrate approved design data into CAD systems, PLM repositories, and client storage systems.
- Track engineering deliverables, revisions, and release status using SmartSheet and other project management tools.
- Support manufacturing layouts and tooling integration activities.
- Coordinate with vendors, designers, manufacturing engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve data issues.
- Ensure engineering data follows required standards and release processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–5 years of experience in engineering data management or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong experience with BIW welding fixture design and detailing.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 – 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, BOMs, and spare parts lists.
- Strong understanding of CAD data management, revisions, and engineering releases.
- Knowledge of manufacturing layouts and tooling integration.
- Ability to manage and organize large volumes of engineering data.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Experience with SmartSheet or similar project tracking tools is preferred.
- DELMIA experience is an added advantage.
