Job Summary
We are looking for a Field Test Engineer with hands-on experience with agricultural machinery, such as tractors, combines, harvesters, and other heavy equipment. This role involves traveling to client sites to perform field validation, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of agricultural equipment under real-world operating conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field validation, machine evaluations, and functional/safety testing.
- Operate and test tractors, harvesters, combines, and other agricultural machinery.
- Collect and analyze data using instrumentation and data acquisition tools.
- Evaluate noise, vibration, speed, torque, hydraulic pressure/flow, and electronic signals.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic system issues.
- Inspect, repair, and prepare prototype and pre-production equipment for testing.
- Document test results, prepare reports, and support root-cause investigations.
- Collaborate with design, software, and manufacturing engineering teams.
- Interact professionally with dealers and farmers while maintaining prototype confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with agricultural machinery, including tractors, combines, or harvesters.
- Experience in field testing, equipment operation, validation, or troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors and traveling approximately 50%.
- Ability to work directly on heavy equipment and prototype machines.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition systems, hydraulics, CAN, or electronic control systems.
- Background in agricultural equipment testing or crop-harvesting machinery.
