Position Overview
We are seeking Electrical Engineers with hands-on experience in wire harness design and development to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) programs. This role focuses on complete lifecycle development of electrical harness systems for heavy equipment applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical wire harness systems from concept to production.
- Create and maintain 2D/3D harness models, including connectors, clips, brackets, coverings, and related documentation.
- Define electrical requirements such as conductor sizing, insulation types, shielding, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Perform system packaging and integration with vehicle subsystems to ensure fit, function, and serviceability.
- Select electrical and mechanical components in accordance with CAT standards.
- Support engineering change management activities, including documentation, revisions, and release processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, testing (CAE), and suppliers to ensure successful product development.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical wire harness design and development (preferably in heavy equipment or automotive industries).
- Hands-on experience with 2D/3D harness routing and layout design.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Conductor sizing
- Circuit protection
- Shielding and EMI/EMC requirements
- Experience with vehicle-level system integration and packaging constraints.
- Proficiency in tools such as Creo and Teamcenter.
- Experience with engineering change management and structured documentation systems.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring standards, and harness manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of CAT standards and industry best practices (preferred).
- Good communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
