Role Overview
The Automotive Systems Feature Engineer is responsible for delivering Feature Assurance Engineering (FAE) deliverables, ensuring alignment with program milestones, and validating feature functionality across multiple vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities
Feature Alignment & Signoff
- Collaborate with the Feature System Engineer (FSE) to ensure level-of-changes alignment and signoff.
- Lead milestone feature signoff activities alongside the FSE counterpart.
Feature Validation Planning
- Develop feature validation plans covering:
- Functional & performance testing
- Functional Safety V&V
- Cybersecurity
- Regulatory requirements
- Select appropriate test cases, environments (Breadboard, HiL, vehicle), and testing resources.
- Determine required software and hardware pedigree for validation.
- Provide tester teams with necessary details to execute validation.
Execution & Issue Resolution
- Coordinate and support execution of the Feature Validation Plan.
- Lead triage and issue resolution across the full development cycle.
- Evaluate test results to confirm compliance with requirements.
- Document defects in Jira, including P-rating and prioritization.
- Lead feature validation report creation and signoff activities with FAE supervisors.
Program & Milestone Support
- Complete feature VSCS signoffs as required by milestones.
- Lead DRP (Deliverable Recovery Plan) approvals when needed for non-conformance.
- Drive resolution of Voice of the Customer / AIM feature issues.
Jira & Documentation Management
- Create, manage, and maintain Jira tickets throughout development and production.
- Maintain an up-to-date issue list with full traceability to engineering artifacts (CAN logs, traces, videos, etc.).
- Prepare dashboards, status reports, and clear communication for all stakeholders.
Testing & Process Improvements
- Enhance robustness of feature validation processes and testing.
- Assist FSEs in developing and improving test cases.
- Lead triaging of in-field quality issues.
- Develop negative test cases and stress testing procedures for edge and unexpected conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BS)
