Job Title: Functional Safety Engineer (FSE) - Battery Management System
Location: Plymouth, MI
Duration: Long Term
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain functional safety processes in alignment with ISO 26262, primarily within the systems domain.
- Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and define safety goals.
- Define preliminary and functional safety concepts.
- Develop the technical safety concept and corresponding safety requirements.
- Perform and review safety analyses such as FMEA, FTA, DFA, and FMEDA, ensuring proper implementation and verification of safety mechanisms.
- Support test and validation activities to ensure compliance with safety objectives.
- Ensure full traceability between safety requirements and system functions.
- Compile, maintain, and manage safety case documentation.
- Propose and implement effective safety-related solutions, particularly at the system level.
Must-Have Technical Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in functional safety.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety standards.
- Proven experience in SEooC development compliant with ISO 26262.
- Solid experience with low-voltage Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Strong understanding of system architecture, including the ability to interpret and create system diagrams and logical schematics.
