Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Information Technology Lead, based in Holland, MI. This position manages and coordinates all information systems and technology functions for the
company. The IT Lead is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and support of network infrastructure, servers, software systems, databases, telecommunications, and user applications. This position provides technical support to all departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Network, Server, and Infrastructure Administration
- Designs, specifies, configures, installs, and maintains local area network hardware, software, and related equipment including copy machines and printers.
- Administers Microsoft Server environments, Microsoft SQL Server, VMware vSphere, and associated systems.
- Manages Meraki/Cisco switches and access points.
- Administers company firewall, email and web filter and email archiver.
- Oversees antivirus administration.
- Maintains phone and internet connections, and other telecommunications systems.
- Manages and administers software licensing and compliance
Systems, Applications, and Database Administration
- Administers Visual ERP software including user setup, permissions, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.
- Supports company and customer databases and applications.
- Develops, writes and maintains company report system.
- Supports purchasing and planning functions including forecasting tools, and related workflows.
- Manages label printing systems.
Web, EDI, and Custom Program Support
- Develops and maintains internal and external web applications using Classic ASP.
- Writes, maintains, and troubleshoots EDI programs in Perl.
- Supports EDI integrations with customers, vendors, and internal systems.
User Support and Cross‑Department Collaboration
- Supports user needs and questions concerning access to resources, software operation, and hardware issues.
- Establishes and maintains network users, user environments, directories, and security.
- Provides initial and ongoing training in system applications.
- Consults with department managers to develop system solutions consistent with organizational objectives including but not limited to system automation, AI capabilities and future technologies.
Data Security, Backup, and Disaster Recovery
- Manages computer operation scheduling, backup, storage, retrieval, and recovery functions using Veeam backup software.
- Develops and implements disaster recovery procedures.
- Manages, develops and administers cyber-security for company and systems.
- Ensures security for company use of AI programs.
Hardware, Devices, and Telecommunications
- Installs and tests software upgrades.
- Troubleshoots and maintains all company printers and multifunction devices.
- Maintains phone and entry system.
Technology Evaluation and Vendor Management
- Researches and evaluates new technologies including AI.
- Negotiates, along with CFO, contracts with hardware, software, and telecommunications vendors.
- Coordinates vendor activities and support services.
- Leads and assists in the development of new systems to improve production or workflow as required.
- Evaluate and implement areas of technology for outsourcing where applicable.
General Responsibilities
- Ability to work within legacy systems, processes and policy while maintaining current on new and future technologies.
- Regular and timely attendance is required as well as ability to respond remotely as needed.
- Supports company quality objectives by identifying and communicating potential nonconforming conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

- Requires 5-10 years of information technology or related experience and/or any appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Clear track record of advancement within technology field.
- Experience in a manufacturing/enterprise system environment required.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds including bending, twisting and reaching. Walking, standing and other physical movement between manufacturing and warehouse environments for up to 4 hours at a time may be required.
