Information Warfare (IW) Advisor
Location: Norfolk, VA (On-site)
Clearance Required: Active SECRET
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Travel: Occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel (approx. 25%)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Information Warfare (IW) Advisor to provide direct mission support. This role supports fleet readiness by monitoring, assessing, and coordinating Information Warfare, Cryptologic, Electronic Warfare, and Intelligence matters that affect surface combatants.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily readiness of Information Warfare (IW), Cryptologic (CRY), and Electronic Warfare (EW) activities through official message traffic, tasking, and coordination channels.
- Analyze policy, instruction, and guidance changes for operational impact to fleet stakeholders; provide recommendations to government leadership.
- Prepare and deliver formal briefings addressing IW, EW, and Intelligence impacts to manning, training, and equipping of surface combatants.
- Coordinate IW, EW, and Intelligence capability requirements.
- Support integration, certification, evaluation, and operation of IW, EW, and Intelligence systems.
- Coordinate experimental and emerging IW/EW capabilities during design, development, testing, and fielding.
- Support logistics and operational coordination with Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs) and Fleet Electronic Support Commands.
- Participate in development of standardized IW/EW/Intel TTPs, doctrine, training, and evaluation programs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in U.S. Navy:
- Information Warfare (IW)
- Cryptology (CRY)
- Electronic Warfare (EW)
- Cybersecurity operations supporting afloat forces
- Demonstrated ability to assess fleet readiness using equipment status, training reports, and operational metrics.
- Proven experience advising senior leadership and producing formal written and verbal briefings.
- Strong working knowledge of Navy operational commands, fleet readiness processes, and IW governance.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior service as an Information Warfare Commander, Deputy IWC, or equivalent senior IW leadership role.
- Experience supporting Surface Force TYCOM or Fleet-level staffs.
- Familiarity with joint or coalition IW/EW coordination.
