GLO Resources is looking for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to perform clerical duties at a busy port in Belle Chasse, LA. The starting pay is $18 per hour, and this position works full-time Monday through Friday with some overtime and weekend work available based on the needs of the business.
Position Summary: The Senior Administrative Clerk performs clerical, administrative, and basic accounting functions to support daily business operations. This role is responsible for processing billing and payments, maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, assisting with accounts receivable, and providing general administrative support while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process billing, payments, deposits, invoices, and accounts receivable transactions.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, spreadsheets, and filing systems.
- Enter, review, and verify data using specialized accounting and document management software.
- Prepare financial, operational, and audit-related reports.
- Assist with collections, delinquent accounts, and customer correspondence.
- Perform general administrative duties, including answering inquiries, filing, copying, and document preparation.
- Operate standard office equipment and maintain electronic records.
- Support audits, special projects, and year-end procedures.
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Train new employees on applicable clerical and billing procedures as needed.
- Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One to two years of clerical or administrative experience; accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency with complex Accounting Software like Account Mate.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office software.
- Strong organizational, data entry, and recordkeeping skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare reports, maintain accurate financial records, and manage multiple priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while following established policies and procedures.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Ability to travel occasionally between office buildings or work areas, ID needed.
- Ability to lift and carry office materials and supplies up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to safely navigate industrial or port facilities while following all applicable safety policies and wearing required personal protective equipment when necessary.
