Role Description The Project Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL, supporting the planning and execution of heavy civil and marine construction projects. Daily responsibilities include assisting with project scheduling, cost tracking, and quantity takeoffs, as well as coordinating engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals. The role involves working closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and maintain project documentation. The Project Engineer will help monitor progress in the field, support quality control and safety initiatives, and prepare reports and updates for internal stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods, particularly related to heavy civil, marine, and bridge work.
- Proficiency with project management and design tools (e.g., MS Project or similar scheduling software, AutoCAD or equivalent, and standard office productivity tools).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts, and translate them into clear instructions and documentation.
- Effective analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail in cost tracking, quantity calculations, and reporting.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Prior experience in infrastructure, marine, or bridge construction projects is preferred.
