Job Summary
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide ongoing training and assistance to staff in Applied Behavioral Analysis and other evidenced based practices for the education of students with behavioral challenges; Establish positive behavior support programs in classes and train staff in these methods; Confer with district and county office of education staff and administrators to provide services regarding program evaluation, improvement, and/or development; Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and create Behavior Intervention Plans as determined by need; Provide training and support to parents/guardians regarding current practices and the specific needs of their child; Ability to lift 40 lb. and/or carry 25 lbs.; Other functions and tasks as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred fields include: Child Development, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, Behavior Studies; PECS, ABA, PBIS trainings preferred but not required; Experience in providing support/training to teachers, administrators, staff and parents; Bilingual (Spanish) writing and speaking skills are highly desired; 5 years of successful experience working with children with special needs in either public school or private agencies; Minimum of 3 years working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders; Must possess valid California Driver’s License.
