Job Title:     Wellness Program Assistant - PT (Sun-Mon) 10 hours $18- $19  

Reports To:        Director of Wellness 

FLSA Status:      Non-Exempt 

  

Summary 

Glenmeadow is seeking a creative, experienced, and enthusiastic Wellness Program Assistant with a genuine passion for working with older adults. In this role, you will organize and implement a diverse range of social, recreational, and physical programs that enhance residents’ well-being and quality of life.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Design, implement, and evaluate creative, resident-centered programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social wellness, including specialized activities for residents with dementia. 
  • Lead engaging group programs, outings, and one-on-one visits, encouraging participation and fostering meaningful connections. 
  • Conduct wellness assessments to personalize programming, track progress, and adapt activities to residents’ evolving abilities and interests. 
  • Collaborate with caregivers, staff, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program success. 
  • Manage program logistics, including setup, cleanup, materials, attendance tracking, and maintaining clean, organized program spaces. 
  • Support departmental operations, special events, and respond flexibly to schedule or program changes. 
  • Ensure resident safety, confidentiality, and a welcoming environment at all times. 
  • Observe and report any physical and mental changes in the resident's condition to the supervisor or Nursing staff. 
  • Enter approved programs into GoIcon (activity tracking system) and create announcements as needed to promote resident engagement. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with older adults, including those with cognitive or physical limitations, with a strong commitment to safety, confidentiality, and overall well-being. 
  • Experience planning and delivering social, educational, recreational, and wellness programs for older adults preferred. 
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and engage residents effectively. 
  • Knowledge of older adult needs and strategies to support cognitive, physical, and emotional wellness. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software, scheduling systems, and technology platforms; familiarity with audiovisual/virtual program delivery tools preferred. 
  • Professional, courteous, and empathetic communication with residents, families, staff, and community partners. 

 

Education and Experience 

  • One year certificate from college or technical school, or at least six months related work experience or training. 
  • Certification as an Activity Assistant is preferred. 
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license preferred; ability to transport residents or program materials as needed. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS   

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.  
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.   
  • Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and smell.  
  • Frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.    

 

Salary : $18 - $19
