Role Overview/Purpose
This Associate Director, HR will function as the head of department of HR for Glenmark's manufacturing site in Monroe, North Carolina. Acting as a strategic business partner, the Associate Director will provide sound, pragmatic HR advice to leadership in order to ensure that business needs are met effectively at the Monroe site. With support from both corporate HR (India), and the HRG, Recruiter and HR Specialist (Monroe) this position will be responsible for the following HR processes at on-site: recruitment and on-boarding, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and development, performance management, and other key HR functions.
Overall Job Responsibilities
Recruiting & On-boarding
- Lead recruitment efforts for Monroe facility; sourcing, interviewing, and hiring candidates for positions at all levels of the organization
- Ensure that there is no business disruption due to manpower shortage, at all times
- Manage the on-boarding process for new hires at Monroe site; conduct new hire / benefits orientation for all new employees
- Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable federal and state labor I employment laws for Monroe site; maintaining employee files as such
- Manage VISA and/or work permit process for applicable employees, as needed
Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee annual Manpower Budgeting process for Monroe site by partnering with department heads to analyze, plan, and budget headcount requests; maintain costs within given budget for year
- Provide pay, reward, and benefits assistance to employees as a first-line contact
- Conduct salary/job benchmarking exercises to maintain an effective compensation structure, making revisions as needed.
Employee Relations/ Performance Management I Training & Development
- Investigate and resolve all employee relations issues at Monroe facility, responding quickly to employee concerns, and escalating to VP, HR when necessary
- Lead training and development activities for the Monroe site, including corporate e-learning initiatives; identifying areas of opportunity and implementing a training plan
- Oversee performance management process, ensuring 100% completion of STRIVE goal setting by employees, and appraisals by managers.
- Drive year-end and mid-year compensation review cycles within corporate guidelines and timelines.
- Implement activities, communications, surveys, and town-hall meetings to drive employee engagement
HR Systems
- Introduction, implementation and monitoring of time attendance system
- Administrator for Leave Management System (LMS), ensuring that leave requests are processed accurately and in accordance with FMLA for all employees at Monroe site
- Ensure organizational charts and job descriptions are updated on a routine basis
- Creation I maintenance of records for new hires and separating employees in Genesis system
- Ensure timely reporting on all HR MIS and any other HR analytics, as requested

Desired Experience and Knowledge
Educational Knowledge
- Master's degree in related field of study or equivalent experience
- HR certifications are a plus
Experience
- 1O years of experience working in HR
- 2-3 years of experience in recruiting
- Experience working for a multi-national/multicultural organization preferred
Knowledge and Skills (Functional and Technical)
- Excellent knowledge of HR best practices regarding Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance Management, and Learning and Development
- Strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws (i.e. FLSA, FMLA, EEO)
- Demonstrated ability to influence management and collaborate with others
- Strong problem-solving skills; developing creative solutions to meet objectives
- Ability to act as a HR business partner with department heads in both Monroe and Mahwah
- Demonstrated experience in prioritizing multiple projects / tasks at the same time, with successful results
- MS Office (primarily Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) required
