Physical Therapist Assistant PRN
Join our team at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation, a provider of skilled and intermediate nursing services to Watauga County and surrounding communities since 1977. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant PRN to work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and deliver high-quality therapy services to our residents.
About the Role:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant PRN, you will play a vital role in helping residents improve mobility, restore physical function, reduce pain, and enhance independence in daily activities. You will work closely with our Physical Therapy team to carry out treatment plans, monitor progress, and document treatments in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility tasks.
- Assist residents in improving strength, range of motion, and overall physical endurance.
- Monitor and document residents’ treatments, progress, and responses in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with the supervising PT regarding residents’ status, changes, and potential adjustments to care plans.
- Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety measures.
- Adhere to facility policies, professional practice standards, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and infection control.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current and valid licensure/certification as a PTA.
- CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).
- Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
