The Role: This is an in-office role for team players who value face-to-face collaboration. We are expanding our Carrier Sales team and looking for a proven performer who knows how to build carrier partnerships, move freight, negotiate with confidence, and thrive under pressure. This isn't an entry-level position—we need someone who has been in the trenches, understands carrier economics, and can hit the ground running. You'll be responsible for sourcing capacity, building carrier networks, negotiating competitive rates, and ensuring on-time delivery across multiple freight modes including but not limited to dry van, reefer, flatbed, heavy-haul, and over-dimensional loads.
About the Job: You will Source, vet, and onboard qualified carrier partners. Negotiate rates aggressively while protecting profit margins. Cover freight strategically in all market conditions (tight or loose). Build and maintain a preferred carrier network. Some departments require tracking shipments proactively from dispatch to delivery. Troubleshoot in-transit issues including delays, breakdowns, re-routes, and accessorials. Monitor market trends and capacity shifts to stay ahead. Ensure carrier compliance with insurance, authority, and safety ratings. Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
What You Bring: Minimum 1–2 years of carrier sales experience in a 3PL brokerage. Effective phone and email communication skills. Proven ability to cover loads and maintain profitability. Solid understanding of spot market dynamics and carrier cost structures. Confidence in high-volume, fast-paced freight environments. Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail. Experience with TMS systems, load boards, and/or carrier sales platforms/AI tools. Competitive by nature with a get-it-done-now attitude.
