What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Section Leader position at Glen Raven?
Glen Raven Material Solutions is recruiting for a Technical Section Leader. This role will work with the other Technical Section Leaders to monitor the overall mechanical function of manufacturing equipment at the Burlington Plant.
**This position has a pay rate of $32.41/hour, based upon education and/or experience.**
Responsibilities:
- Follow company policies, safe work practices, prevent injury to yourself and other associates
- Report any unsafe work condition or any work-related injury to your supervisor immediately
- Actively participate in product development and production of sample yarns on available equipment
- Inspect, repair, or replace machine parts as scheduled or when major breakdowns occur
- Be knowledgeable about the equipment in the Burlington Plant (yarn spinning)
- Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts. Notify supply room coordinator when parts need to be ordered
- Work with shift technicians when necessary to troubleshoot and solve machine problems
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance
- Line level, dismantle and erect machinery as needed
- Computer experience required, including Excel software programs.
- Maintain good housekeeping
- Ensure all equipment compressed air and electrical connections are in good working order
- Perform other technical duties as directed by the manufacturing manager
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a leadership and/or supervisory role is strongly preferred.
- Textile Manufacturing experience or General Manufacturing experience preferred.
- MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
- A leader in Safety and Quality among peers.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to speak in a public setting.
- Ability to multi-task and handle varied manufacturing functions and priorities.
- Strong bias for action
