Job Title: On-Call Banquet Bartender
Job Summary:
The On-Call Banquet Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to guests during special events. They maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area and ensure a high level of customer service. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work irregular hours based on the scheduling of events.
Key Responsibilities:
Setup and Breakdown:
- Prepare the bar area before events, ensuring all necessary supplies (e.g., glassware, garnishes, beverages) are stocked.
- Clean and organize the bar area after events, properly storing unused items and disposing of waste.
Customer Service:
- Greet guests in a friendly manner and take their drink orders.
- Prepare and serve drinks quickly and accurately, following standard recipes and guest preferences.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate issues as needed.
Compliance and Safety:
- Verify the legal drinking age of guests before serving alcohol.
- Follow all state and local regulations regarding the service of alcohol.
- Ensure responsible serving practices to prevent over-consumption and manage intoxicated guests appropriately.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor the bar inventory during events and communicate any shortages to the event manager.
- Assist in inventory counts and the restocking process as needed.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the banquet staff, including servers and event coordinators, to ensure seamless event execution.
- Assist other team members during peak times as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender, preferably in a banquet or event setting.
- Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixology, and the ability to customize beverages based on guest requests.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to lift heavy items (e.g., cases of liquor, beer kegs) and stand for extended periods.
- Must be 21 years of age or older (or as per local legal requirements).
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
