Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Development Manager to support the planning, design, entitlement, and construction execution of commercial and multifamily development projects. This role will serve as a key liaison between ownership, consultants, contractors, and municipal agencies throughout the development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong project management background and experience working for a general contractor, architectural firm, engineering firm, or design-build organization. This individual will play a critical role in managing project schedules, budgets, design coordination, and construction activities to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage development projects from pre-development through construction completion and project closeout.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and municipal agencies throughout the development process.
- Assist in overseeing project schedules, budgets, and reporting to ensure projects remain on track and within approved parameters.
- Lead design coordination efforts and review construction documents for completeness, constructability, and alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor project milestones and proactively identify potential risks, delays, or budget impacts.
- Support the entitlement, permitting, and approval process with local jurisdictions and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in contractor selection, bid evaluations, contract administration, and procurement activities.
- Conduct site visits and construction progress reviews to ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Track project costs, review pay applications, change orders, and consultant invoices.
- Prepare project updates, presentations, and development reports for senior leadership.
- Assist with due diligence, feasibility analysis, and project planning for new development opportunities.
- Foster strong relationships with project stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, government officials, and community representatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate Development, Business, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in project management, construction management, architecture, engineering, or real estate development.
- Experience working for a general contractor, architectural firm, engineering firm, or design-build organization is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the development, design, entitlement, and construction process.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience reviewing construction drawings, project schedules, budgets, and consultant contracts.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
