What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Glaucoma Consultants of Texas?
Immediate opening for a full-time, medical billing specialist in a growing ophthalmology practice with locations in Grapevine and Fort Worth. The position would be primarily based out of Grapevine. Great benefits and environment!
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Run error reports and make corrections as needed
· Work denied or incorrect claims from AR report
· Review and address patient balances report
· Verify Insurance
· Prepare patient and insurance refund requests and respond to requests for recoupment and/or overpayment from an insurance company or payer
· Answer and resolve all patient inquiries about payments and insurance
· Stay informed of insurance news and regulation changes
· Ensure compliance with Medicare and third party payers’ procedures and protocol
· Assist all employees in the understanding of new policies implemented by insurance carriers
EDUCATION AND Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two years of billing experience in a medical office setting
- Strong insurance, billing and collections background
- 1 year hands-on experience with NextGen EPM/EMR or similar product

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour
