POSITION: Paraeducator – Student Support Center
(Union Position, Full Benefits)
Gideon Welles School
WAGES: $23.59 per hour/Pay Group C
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday
10-month position, 31.4 hrs. Per week
DUTIES: The Student Support Centers (SSC) located at Gideon
Welles, Smith Middle, and Glastonbury High schools are
designed to provide a safe, nurturing environment for students
to develop social/emotional and behavioral skills.
The SSC paraprofessional will assist the Student Support
Center clinician in providing support services to students.
Duties include data collection, implementing behavior plans,
supporting academic work, communicating with classroom
teachers, developing relationships with students, prepping
materials, student supervision, and other duties as directed by
the SSC clinician.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to relate well to students, to follow a schedule with
flexibility to changes, and to problem solve. Good
communication skills are required. Previous experience
working with middle/high school students preferred.
