Brief Description

JOB DUTIES

  • Lead on IPM program spread over two different facilities.
  • Ensure that all growing, scouting and spraying processes and procedures are executed in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and diagnosis crop for insect and disease issues. Respond in compliance with IPM and WPS practices.
  • Monitor soil and fertility conditions and adjust based on established criteria and computer control systems.
  • Maintain proper growing and IPM schedules.
  • Maintain procedures manuals and documentation for all processes.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise spray applications and ensure optimal spray techniques are being applied.
  • Ensure that chemical inventory is accurate and materials are stored and maintained in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Cultivation/Production teams.
  • Serve as main point of contact with state and local officials.
  • Must have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, timekeeping, budgeting, etc.
  • Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 21 years old
  • Able to communicate with and lead a diverse workforce
  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Understand and be familiar with WPS
  • Able to adapt to changes as needed
  • Bilingual, English/ Spanish preferred

OTHER SKILLS And ABILITIES

  • Must be a self-starter with minimal supervision, able to work independently and in a team environment
  • This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week
  • Willingness to work weekends

Mental/ Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present
  • Ability to exert up to 15-50 pounds occasionally in order to lift and move product
  • Ability to balance, reach grasp while climbing on a step stool and/ or ladder
  • Ability to crouch, grasp and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly
  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time as job duties require

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years experience with crop growing and IPM systems and the implementation of those systems.
  • 3 years’ experience in a commercial horticultural or agricultural position.
  • Experience in the management and implementation of standardized Horticulture processes.
  • Experience with the handling and application of pesticides, Bio-pesticides and be familiar with predatory control methods.
  • Must have experience in a management role
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly plus
  • Be willing to work flexible hours
  • Be able to obtain pesticide applicator license
  • Team player with a “can-do” attitude
  • Willingness to learn

Summary

Responsible for the implementation and management of the Integrated Pest Management Systems. Ensuring that all processes and procedures meet and or exceed all regulatory requirements and that they are conducted in a safe and effective manner. Execute all outlined growing procedures to ensure the highest quality product that meet our customers’ requirements.

This position will work very closely with our cultivation and production teams. Ability to work independently is a must. Excellent time management and organizational skills required. Applicant must have exceptional communication and record keeping skills in a highly dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
