The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Food Scientist to join our team in Downers Grove. This role will focus on the development of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) applications, including snacks, bars, and baked products, with potential involvement in powders, ready-to-drink, tablets, and capsules. You will lead strategic innovation initiatives, manage product development from concept to market, and collaborate across departments to bring high-quality nutrition products to life. The position includes managing 1–2 direct reports and may require 10–20% travel.
This is a lab-based role involving exposure to food allergens and product tasting.
The Skills you will bring to the team
· Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
· Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in food, beverage, or dietary supplement industry
· Proven track record in developing and launching RTE snack products
· Advanced knowledge of formulation and manufacturing equipment for beverage production
· Strong understanding of raw material stability and international regulations
· Detail-oriented and organized, with adherence to GMP lab and factory guidelines
· Effective communicator across technical and non-technical audiences
· Skilled in project management and cross-functional collaboration
· Experience with SAP preferred
· Leadership capabilities including mentoring and team development
