Job Summary
GladEyes Care Support Services, a woman- and minority-owned NJ DDD provider agency serving South Jersey, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential home care services to individuals with developmental disabilities in Williamstown, NJ and surrounding counties. In this role, you will support clients in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities and hold current certifications in CPR and First Aid. This position pays $18-$20/hour and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve through personalized care and support.
Duties
- Provide personalized home care assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, supporting their daily routines and activities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility as needed
- Implement individualized care plans to promote independence and improve quality of life
- Monitor clients' health and well-being, recognizing signs of distress or medical issues, and respond appropriately
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, including CPR and First Aid procedures when necessary
- Support clients during community outings or recreational activities, encouraging social interaction and engagement
- Document care provided, progress notes, and any incidents accurately in accordance with agency policies
- Collaborate with team members, family members, and other professionals to coordinate comprehensive support services
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or other disabilities preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required
- Valid driver's license required
- Reliable transportation required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients of diverse needs
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt to changing client needs
- Reliable, patient, and respectful demeanor
- Basic knowledge of home care procedures and safety protocols
- Must pass background check, including fingerprinting and drug testing

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
