Machine Shop Hand / Deburr & Packing Technician A new role that will be from June 8th - Sept 21Pay $16-$20 depending on experience Position Summary The Deburr & Packing Technician is responsible for removing sharp edges and burrs from machined or fabricated parts, cleaning parts as needed, visually inspecting for quality issues, and packing parts safely for shipment. This role is important to ensuring our customers receive clean, safe, high-quality parts that meet expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Deburr machined and fabricated parts using hand tools, files, grinders, sanders, Scotch-Brite, or other approved tools
- Remove sharp edges, burrs, slag, weld spatter, or rough areas as required
- Clean parts prior to packing, including wiping, blowing off chips, or removing excess debris
- Visually inspect parts for obvious defects such as scratches, dents, sharp edges, poor finish, missing hardware, or damage and notify quality/supervisor
- Follow work instructions, drawings, job travelers, and quality requirements
- Pack parts carefully to prevent damage during handling and shipping
- Use appropriate packaging materials such as boxes, foam, paper, bags, labels, and protective wrapping
- Count parts accurately and verify quantities against paperwork
- Label boxes or parts as required
- Keep the deburr and packing area clean, organized, and safe
- Support other shop tasks as needed
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work carefully and consistently
- Comfortable using basic hand tools and power tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to count accurately and complete basic paperwork
- Willingness to ask questions when something does not look right
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous manufacturing, deburr, finishing, packing, or inspection experience is helpful but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to use hands for repetitive tasks such as sanding, filing, wrapping, and packing
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment
- Must follow all safety requirements, including use of PPE
