Experience and Skills:
Looking for a summer job that's challenging and exciting? As a Challenge Course Specialist, you'll lead campers through high ropes, low ropes, and team challenges that build confidence, courage, and serious "I did that!" moments. If you love climbing, being outdoors, and helping people push past their comfort zones-this is your summer position!
What You'll Do:
- Lead and supervise high & low ropes course activities (yes, you'll be up there too)
- Teach campers how to safely use equipment, belay, and support each other
- Create an environment focused on teamwork, confidence, and personal growth
- Keep a close eye on safety while still making activities fun and engaging
- Perform daily gear checks and course inspections
- Monitor all activities to ensure compliance with required safety standards, protocols, and risk management
- Respond to incidents and document anything important (safety always comes first)
- Be a positive, encouraging leader and role model for campers and staff
- Jump in to support other camp activities when needed
Experience and Skills:
We're Looking For Someone Who…
- Is at least 18 years, with a high school diploma or GED
- Has ACCT Level 1 Certification or experience in ropes courses, climbing, or outdoor adventure programs
- Feels confident leading groups and giving clear instructions
- Stays calm, focused, and safety-minded in active environments
- Enjoys working with kids and helping them succeed
- Is adaptable, responsible, and a strong team player
- Can handle a physically active role (standing, climbing, lifting up to 25 pounds)
- Has (or is willing to get) CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience working at camps or with youth
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
