Position Summary
Working up to 10 hours a week, the Community Engagement Specialist will provide administrative support to the Community Engagement team to help reach the council's goal of recruiting new members and volunteers and increasing community visibility.
This position will be working at the office in Appleton, WI.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating cases and entering leads and other information into the member database system.
- Printing and materials production, including ordering, sorting, organizing, and creating packets for distribution.
- Packaging and shipping of materials to staff in other offices and staff working remotely.
- Email and phone communication with volunteers, members, and other staff.
- Completing local pick-ups and deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational habits and self-motivation.
- Professional oral and written communication skills – ability to listen and comprehend what others are saying, and to communicate effectively and clearly to a diverse group of volunteers and staff.
- Technical computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Zoom.
- Attention to detail.
- Organizational skills – manage various tasks with different deadlines.
- Time Management – be able to work to deadlines and time schedules.
Expectations
- Commitment to the Girl Scout mission and values.
- Ability to connect and build trust with people from all backgrounds and communities.
- Must be (or become) a registered Girl Scout member.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand/sit for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
