Role Description
The Membership Director is a full-time, on-site role located in Chesapeake, VA. The individual in this role will be responsible for overseeing and managing membership recruitment and retention initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing membership strategies, collaborating with volunteers and staff, assessing membership data to enhance engagement efforts, building strong community relationships, and achieving growth goals. The Membership Director will also work on budget planning and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Experience and skills in Membership Development and Sales to successfully recruit, retain, and support members
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage with members, volunteers, and community partners effectively
- Proficiency in Budgeting to manage financial plans and achieve membership-related goals
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and leadership skills to support strategic decision-making and staff coordination
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and data analysis for planning and reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience preferred
- Experience with nonprofit organizations or youth leadership programs is a plus
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends as needed to support events and activities
Salary: $65,000-$75,000 annually
