Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and water trucks to support various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction site safety and mechanical operations, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should possess relevant experience in heavy equipment operation and construction site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and water trucks to perform earthmoving, grading, and site preparation tasks
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Assist with site clearing, trenching, digging, lifting, and material handling operations
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for all team members
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to execute construction plans effectively
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities
- Support other construction activities such as horizontal drilling, tanker operations, paving, and dump truck driving as needed
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and water trucks
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Prior experience working on commercial or large-scale construction sites preferred
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus for operating dump trucks or other transport vehicles
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is advantageous
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to heavy equipment operation in construction environments
