Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Demolition Laborer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will assist with the safe and efficient demolition of structures, preparing sites for new construction or renovation projects. This role requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Prior construction site experience and familiarity with various tools and techniques are highly valued to ensure quality work and adherence to project timelines. This position is for as work needed. Responsibilities
- Perform demolition activities including tearing down structures, removing debris, and preparing sites for subsequent construction phases.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to understand project requirements.
- Assist with the removal of materials such as drywall, flooring, roofing, masonry, and other building components.
- Support in the use of specialized techniques such as concrete forming, plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, and masonry work.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations at all times during demolition activities.
- Coordinate with project managers and other trades to facilitate smooth workflow on-site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly disposing of debris and unused materials.
Skills
- Experience with blueprint reading and schematics interpretation.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of various construction techniques including concrete finishing, framing, roofing, masonry, flooring installation, tile laying, carpentry (including trim carpentry), glass installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, painting, restoration, and remodeling.
- Familiarity with construction management processes such as estimating and inspection is a plus.
- Ability to work safely around construction sites while following safety protocols.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
