Our Philadelphia-based wholesale produce distribution company is seeking an experienced Night Warehouse Manager to oversee our evening warehouse operations. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for managing a team of 6–10 warehouse associates, ensuring accurate and efficient order fulfillment, maintaining warehouse organization, and fostering a safe, productive work environment.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment, communicates effectively across departments, and leads by example.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of 6–10 night warehouse associates.
- Hire, train, coach, schedule, and evaluate warehouse team members.
- Manage employee performance, including disciplinary actions and performance improvement when necessary.
- Organize and prioritize customer orders by delivery route and delivery zone.
- Ensure orders are accurately pulled, staged, and prepared for delivery.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and inventory flow throughout the shift.
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure the proper use of warehouse equipment.
- Coordinate with purchasing, receiving, quality control, and other departments to ensure product quality and timely order completion.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and maintain productivity throughout the shift.
- Perform other warehouse and supervisory duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse supervisory or management experience required.
- Experience in food distribution, produce, or a related warehouse environment preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop employees in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated warehouse environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Knowledge of fresh produce or food products is a plus.
Schedule
- Shift: 4:00 PM until completion of nightly operations.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
