Duties
- Assist sushi chefs with ingredient preparation, including slicing fish, vegetables, and other components using proper knife skills
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, ensuring all tools and surfaces are sanitized according to food safety standards
- Support food handling procedures by properly storing ingredients and managing inventory levels
- Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure each dish meets quality standards
- Follow food safety protocols diligently during all stages of food preparation and service
- Aid in setting up catering orders or special event sushi platters as needed
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and maintaining a lively work atmosphere
Skills
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, restaurant server, or kitchen assistant is highly beneficial
- Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation practices
- Strong knife skills for slicing fish, vegetables, and other ingredients efficiently and safely
