Production Supervisor
A local beverage manufacturer is searching for an exceptional Production Supervisor to join our outstanding team. The Supervisor is responsible for leading the production team to meet and exceed customer expectations and achieve high standards related to safety, quality, cost, line efficiencies, waste, and productivity. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on leader position that facilitates a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of production.
The suited candidate will lead, train, coach, and develop the production team, quality assurance employees, mechanics on equipment operation, and the entire production process, as well as, ensure proper training and compliance with equipment safety, workplace safety, and food safety guidelines.
Summary of Essential job functions:
- Ensure quality products by following all quality processes.
- Corroborate all materials needed for production are on hand.
- Provide current, direct, complete, and actionable positive and corrective feedback to employees.
- Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to improve quality, streamline efficiencies and reduce operating expenses.
- Track productivity for measured shift efficiency and improvement.
- Operate at or below the budgeted cost for production utilizing lean manufacturing procedures.
- Oversee strict adherence to inventory control procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Drive team production goals and efficiency to meet all production requirements.
- Accurately complete production and payroll related documentation and paperwork.
- Foster a continuous improvement mindset, elevating new ideas (both your own and those of your employees), and execute plans to positively affect the plant operations and goals.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
- Cross-train production employees for more flexibility.
- Support and comply with GMP’s.
- Take charge on other duties as assigned.
Ideal candidates will meet the following requirements.
BA/BS and/or a minimum of 5 years of prior work experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
5 years of supervisory experience of a team of 10 production employees with demonstrated experience managing, coaching and developing the team.
Collaborative and ethical leader with a focus on continuous improvement.
Clearly communicate with all levels of management utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Builds constructive and effective relationships using diplomacy and tact and treats direct reports equitably.
Effectively prioritize multiple activities and requirements using strong organization skills.
Ability to manage change and constantly strive for improvement.
Excellent problem solver. Understands issues and proactively develops effective solutions to technical and personnel issues.
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office products.
ERP knowledge, MS Dynamics helpful.
