Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service through active communication and attentive listening
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges efficiently
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Assist customers with product inquiries, including conducting product demos when appropriate
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the sales floor is inviting and well-presented
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending relevant items to enhance their shopping experience
- Practice excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing assistance remotely
- Support inventory management through stock checks and merchandising activities in a grocery store or retail environment
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience or familiarity with POS systems is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers in bilingual environments if applicable
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math for calculating totals and discounts
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude
- Experience in retail sales, merchandising, stocking, or grocery store environments is advantageous
- Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours as needed
