What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate/Order Picker position at Gilmer Warehouse & Logistics?
Summary
This person must have great attention to detail and good mathematical skills and willing to communicate frequently with others. Warehouse Associates may be responsible for handling loose freight, loading, unloading, sorting, staging and transporting of products in a distribution center/warehouse. Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other associates and productively with little supervision. Following company safety policies and procedures is of great importance to this position.
Duties:
- Perform warehouse functions such as order picking.
- Use handheld scanners and equipment for warehouse management system compliance.
- Work cooperatively with other warehouse associates.
- Provide outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to detail and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
- Perform daily housekeeping requirements needed to ensure quality standards at all times
- Adhere to company or site-specific safety policy and guidelines to ensure safe working conditions for self and others.
- Participate in keeping the facility maintained in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion.
- Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.
- As a warehouse worker, you will be responsible for upkeep and cleaning of aisles, bays and loading docks (to include sweeping areas, throwing away unusable dunnage) and common use areas such as break areas, and entry locations.
Requirements:
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in a warehouse environment, which may be non-air conditioned or heated, meaning the indoor temperature fluctuates with the seasons.
Preferred Experience (Not Required):
- 3 months experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Computer experience, such as order management systems including WMS.
Shifts: Monday - Friday 7:45am - 4:30pm and Sunday-Thursday 11:00pm-7:30am Overtime is required when needed based on production needs.
