Position Overview
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment, facilities, and systems operate safely and efficiently. This role supports production operations by troubleshooting issues, completing repairs, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, building systems, and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and complete necessary repairs.
• Inspect facilities daily for potential hazards, equipment failures, or maintenance needs.
• Maintain and repair lighting, plumbing, HVAC components, and general building structures.
• Respond to work orders in a timely manner while documenting completed tasks accurately.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other maintenance-related equipment.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment diagrams.
• Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades as needed.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, tools, parts, and supplies.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Support emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production, safety, and facility teams to address maintenance concerns and improve reliability.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of maintenance experience in general industry or similar environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
• Ability to safely operate tools and maintenance equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to read technical documents and follow detailed instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. climb ladders, and perform tasks in varying environments.
Work Environment
• Industrial manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) required as determined by tasks.
