Position Summary:
The Quality Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the facility’s Quality Management System to ensure compliance with internationally recognized Quality Standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines. This role ensures that all products produced meet safety, quality, and legal standards, and that the facility remains continuously audit-ready.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain and improve the facility’s Quality Management System in line with AIB standards.
- Lead AIB audit preparation, corrective actions, and ongoing compliance activities.
- Oversee GMP programs, allergen management, sanitation verification, pest control, and foreign material prevention.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues and customer complaints.
- Train and coach staff on quality and food safety standards.
- Conduct plant inspections and internal audits.
- Manage and lead a team of 10 personnel
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as biology, chemistry, food manufacturing and/or quality.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- 3 years in a food manufacturing or co-packing quality role
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, allergen control, and sanitation programs
- Experience with international standards, such as AIB, ISO 9001, or SQF
Work Environment:
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery.
- The job will require lifting / carrying / pushing / pulling up to 50 lbs. as well as reaching, standing, sitting, and walking.
- This job will require work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season).
- This job may require extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts with overtime as needed to meet customer requirements.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
