POSITION TITLE: Substitute Nurse
DEPARTMENT: Health Center
SUPERVISOR: School Nurse
STATUS: Part Time (As needed)
FLSA: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
HOURS OF WORK: TBD
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Essential
POSITION SUMMARY: With the supervision of the School Nurse, the Substitute School Nurse will evaluate and treat Gilman students, faculty and staff for minor illnesses and injuries, administer medication to students per protocol and/or physician’s order, enter documentation of Health Center visits, and identify health problems serious enough to require a physician’s attention.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the school nurse as needed with the daily activities of the Health Center.
- Provide direct nursing care for students, faculty and staff who present with injuries or acute illnesses.
- Administer medications and assist with screenings.
- Document visits to Health Center using Magnus EMR system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Pediatric or School Nurse experience preferred.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Maryland.
- BLS for Health Care Providers.
COMPENSATION:
