Gilman Precision is seeking a Small Parts Assembler to perform repetitive and non-repetitive assembly operations on precision metal components and sub-assemblies. This position focuses on small, lightweight parts (typically under 10 lbs) and requires the use of hand tools and basic measuring instruments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to follow written and verbal work instructions in a manufacturing environment.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble small metal parts and sub-assemblies using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, hex keys, and torque tools
  • Work from shop orders, work instructions, and basic blueprints or assembly drawings
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure assemblies meet quality standards
  • Use basic measuring tools including calipers, scales, and gauges
  • Identify and report defective parts, missing components, or assembly issues
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records as required
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Assist team members and support continuous improvement efforts as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environment preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic measuring instruments
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and simple blueprints
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Basic math skills including decimals and fractions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for up to 6–8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift and carry parts weighing up to 10 lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions
  • Ability to see and inspect small components and assemblies

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
