Position Summary:
Are you a chef tired of 80-hour workweeks and unpredictable hours? At Gill Grilling, we offer predictable workweeks, a supportive work environment, and the opportunity to design menus, engage with clients, and lead your own kitchen—all while having your summers off.
We’re currently hiring a full-time Kitchen Manager to lead meal service at a fraternity or sorority on the University of Montana campus. You’ll be responsible for preparing daily meals Monday through Friday, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
Reports To:
Regional Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve fresh, high-quality meals Monday through Friday
- Design and adjust menus based on member preferences and feedback
- Ensure customer satisfaction through responsiveness and follow-through
- Oversee additional kitchen staff (if applicable)
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Track and manage food inventory and orders
- Communicate regularly with the Regional Director to ensure smooth operations
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4 years of experience in high-volume culinary management
- Strong culinary skills and ability to adjust menus to client preferences
- Experience in kitchen management, food ordering, and inventory control
- Familiarity with repeat customer environments (e.g., private clubs or institutional settings)
- Comfortable using basic technology (email, text, apps)
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
- Self-motivated, organized, and professional
- Ability to coach, lead, and develop team members
